The grass was beautiful. She looked upon it daily – it made her happy to gaze upon its beauty. It was such a lovely shade of green, with beautiful flowers. Birds and butterflies played with life and happiness. It was much more exciting than her own lawn. One day, she gathered the courage to cross over and walk among its beauty.
However, it was all an illusion. An illusion thrown up by the lawn to hide what was really there. What she found was all brown and dead from pain, loneliness, and neglect left behind by previous occupants. It was full of weeds and crab grass. It made her sad. She tried to help. Content in its solitary existence it rejected her efforts and banished her back to her own lawn, breaking her heart.
